Audi is recalling eight examples of its 2020 Q5SUV due to a fault with the front seats.
“Due to incorrect welding, the gap on the adjusting mechanism for the backrest of the front seats may be faulty,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of a rear collision, the backrest adjuster could break, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. In the event of a serious accident, this could result in the death of a vehicle occupant.”

Audi is contacting all known owners of affected Q5s. If you’re one of them, you should contact your local Audi dealer for inspection and repair.
As parts may not be available immediately, Audi will supply a courtesy car if there’ll be any delay.
If you have any questions, you can contact Audi Australia on 1800 50 2834.
