2022 Porsche Cayenne spied

Porsche is preparing to give its strong-selling Cayenne a mid-life makeover.

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne has been spied for the first time, albeit under heavy camouflage.

Even under the camouflage we can see the new Cayenne will have a set of headlights inspired by the latest Porsche 911 and all-electric Taycan, along with what appears to be a new bonnet.

The lights are slimmer than before – despite what the fake tape around their edges would have you believe – with more prominent ice-cube daytime running lights.

Porsche is keeping its cards close to its chest down back, where the updated rear light bar has been hidden away.

The Cayenne was one of the first Porsche models to feature a light bar, but the cue has since been evolved on the 992-generation 911 sports car.

Porsche could apply a similar 3D effect to the lights on the updated Cayenne, although it’s hard to see what’s changed at this point.

The numberplate mount has moved to the rear bumper rather than the tailgate, too.

Inside, the new Cayenne is expected to pick up the shaver-style shifter from the new 911, and adopt some of the design cues from its transmission tunnel.

A variation of the digital cockpit from the new 911 could also feature.

The Cayenne was the second-best selling Porsche in Australia last year behind the Macan, with a combined 1385 sales across the coupe and wagon body styles.
