The next step in Polestar’s evolution, the Polestar 4 SUV, will be revealed in Shanghai on April 18.
The 4 will be an electric coupe SUV, and is expected to offer more than 600km of driving range.
Where the Polestar 3 is targeting the Porsche Cayenne, the 4 is aimed squarely at the electric Macan set for reveal this year.

Given the Polestar 2 measures 4606mm long and the Polestar 3 is 4900mm long, the 4 is expected to slot between the two.
Polestar says it’ll be the fastest production car it’s made to date – but it won’t be the most expensive.
CEO Thomas Ingenlath has previously said his team is targeting a starting price equivalent to roughly $67,000 in Europe, compared to the Polestar 3 and its ~$110,000 starting price (in Europe – it’s $130k in Australia).
Ingenlath previously admitted that the new Geely SEA platform – a purpose-made, highly modular EV architecture designed for mass-market EVs and high volumes – is in Polestar’s war chest.

Under the skin, previous reports suggested the Polestar 4 could ride on a version of the SEA electric platform being rolled out to brands under the Geely umbrella.
In a media release, however, Mr Ingenlath says the 4 “is not simply a modified version of our first SUV”.
That could suggest it’ll use a version of the SPA 2 electric platform that underpins the Polestar 3 electric SUV, clothed in a more aggressive coupe body and featuring more power from its electric motors.
Production is on track to start in China during 2023.
