The fifth-generation 2027 Audi A6 allroad has finally been confirmed for the Australian market, and will offer a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option for the first time.
It's the first version of the latest A6 family to be confirmed in Australia, with prices starting from $127,900 before on-road costs. Audi Australia says it's "the most comprehensively equipped A6 allroad to date", and will arrive Down Under during the first half of 2027.
That's only $1500 up on the asking price of the previous diesel-only A6 allroad last seen Down Under in 2024, with a claimed $10,000 worth of additional specification in this latest iteration.
With that said, the base price is for the new e-hybrid quattro 270kW version, which teams a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor and 25.9kWh (gross) battery pack. The like-for-like TDI quattro 220kW is $10,000 dearer, at $137,900 plus on-road costs.

Australian equipment highlights include:

The A6 allroad lineup is also fitted as standard with a fulsome suite of Audi's assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise assist and active lane assist for semi-autonomous highway driving, in addition to autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as well as front cross-traffic assist and front/rear turn assist functions.
Side assist combines blind-spot and rear cross-traffic assists including exit warning; while the list of safety features is rounded out by lane departure warning, emergency assist, proactive occupant protection, and speed sign recognition. Nine airbags are standard including a front-centre airbag, with tyre pressure monitoring also standard.
Options include the Premium package ($9900), which adds digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED tail lights with switchable light signatures, power-latching doors, a heated steering wheel, heated outer rear seats, an electrically adjustable steering column, manual rear sun blinds and "advanced parking functionality".
Further, customers can specify the 'Customised contour seats package' ($500) which brings Nappa leather upholstery in black or Nutmeg brown, contrast top-stitching, pneumatically adjustable seat and backrest bolsters up front, electrically adjustable thigh support, memory functions for the front passenger, and "additional interior trim treatments".

As for powertrains, the A6 allroad e-hybrid quattro teams the brand's familiar 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and 25.9kWh battery (20.7kWh usable) for system outputs of 270kW and 500Nm.
The high-voltage battery offers up to 87km of electric driving range, and only supports AC charging at up to 11kW.
Meanwhile, the A6 allroad TDI quattro scores a 3.0-litre V6 TDI turbo-diesel, making less power (220kW) but more torque (580Nm). While not a PHEV, the 3.0-litre TDI gets the brand's 48V mild-hybrid 'plus' technology which reduces turbo lag courtesy of an electrically powered compressor, and electric-only driving at very low speeds.
Both powertrains drive all four wheels via a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the e-hybrid's quattro 'ultra' system offers on-demand functionality to decouple the rear axle to reduce friction and save fuel.

First revealed in June, the new Audi A6 allroad boasts a unique widebody design compared to the regular A6 Sedan and Avant offered overseas, seemingly a preview of the upcoming RS6 Avant performance halo.
It measures 5016mm long, 1986mm wide and up to 1508mm tall, increases of 65mm, 84mm and 6mm respectively over the last-generation A6 allroad sold here in 2024. There's 34mm more ground clearance than the regular A6 Avant, and 16mm more than its predecessor.
Standard air suspension provides 55mm of ride-height adjustment, with ‘offroad’ and ‘offroad+’ driving modes raising the allroad by a further 15mm while automatically adjusting the shock absorbers to suit. A lift function adds another 20mm of ground clearance at speeds of up to 35km/h, while above 85km/h the vehicle lowers itself to its minimum ride height.
The rear-wheel steering system turns the rear wheels by up to 5.0 degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels at speeds of up to 60km/h. Above this, it adds up to 2.0 degrees of rear-wheel steering in the same direction as the front wheels.
