The BMW X3 has received some running updates, due to hit the European market from December.
Headlining the changes for the 2027 BMW X3 is increased power for the M50 xDrive performance hero, augmented by the availability of a new Black Package option.
The X3 M50 xDrive's 3.0-litre turbocharged straight six with 48V mild-hybrid assistance now makes 326kW (up from 293kW), with torque remaining at 580Nm.
BMW's 0-100km/h claim drops by 0.2s compared to the model offered locally, at 4.4 seconds. The updated performance powertrain is also compliant with the latest Euro 7 emissions regulations.

Available exclusively with the X3 M50 xDrive is the new Black Package, which adds "striking" exterior accents "with motorsport-inspired details".
Highlights include 22-inch M Black light alloy wheels in 'Polygon 1134' design, adding an extra inch to the 'tyre portfolio' of the M50 xDrive's standard wheel and tyre package. Other M light alloy wheel options are also available.
With the package fitted, the M Sport brakes are finished in high-gloss black, and accented with a monochromatic BMW M logo. In fact, all M logos and model badges are finished in high-gloss black with a silver outline in conjunction with the Black Package.
Inside, there's liberal use of Alcantara trim, including the driver's side instrument panel, the surface area ahead of the central display and the smartphone tray. The motorsport-derived synthetic suede trim also lines the doors and the armrest on the centre console.

Further, the M logo on the headrests is embossed onto the Alcantara upholstery, while the Alcantara/Veganza (leatherette) trim features blue stitching and piping.
The M colours are also seen in the flag motif on the black floor mats, while selected interior elements are highlighted by BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass ornamentation. Finishing off the package is the M steering wheel with an airbag hub trimmed in leather.
Beyond the M50 xDrive, the wider X3 lineup will be available with various enhancements, also due to hit the European market from December 2026.
The four-cylinder powertrain lineup is now Euro 7 emissions compliant, while the area in front of the central display will now be trimmed in a 'PVC Softskin' surface.

The centre console storage compartment and inner sides of the cabin door handles now feature ambient lighting across the range, complemented by a new design for the glove box opener and stainless steel boot sill guard.
All M Sport and M Performance models will have door entry sills finished in Dark Silver with a black M logo, too.
CarExpert has reached out to BMW Australia for local timing and specifications for the enhanced X3 SUV lineup, and is awaiting a response.
