The Honda Super-One electric vehicle (EV) is now Honda Australia’s cheapest model to service after the Japanese auto brand increased capped-price service costs for all new petrol and hybrid models by 40 per cent from this month.

The higher prices apply to vehicles purchased on or after October 1, 2026.

The Super-One electric hatch's capped-price service program continues to charge $199 for each of its first five scheduled services, due every 12 months or 15,000km. That’s unchanged from when Australian order books opened in August 2026.

However, Honda Australia has raised capped-price service costs for the rest of its model lineup, comprising petrol and hybrid vehicles, from $199 to $279 per scheduled service.

The $80 price increase takes the cost of the first five services for the Civic, Accord, Prelude, HR-V, ZR-V and Honda Australia’s most popular model, the CR-V mid-size SUV, to $1395 – up from $995.

But the Super-One’s equivalent total remains $995, making it one of Australia's cheapest electric hatchbacks to service.

Among its rivals is the BYD Atto 1 – Australia’s cheapest EV – which costs between $200 and $527 per scheduled service, totalling $1528 over five years.

Meanwhile, the Mini Cooper E electric hatch costs $1202 for four years of scheduled servicing.

Honda Australia’s standard new-vehicle warranty covers five years with no limit on mileage, although it can be extended to eight years if the vehicle is serviced at a Honda Service Centre.

This is the first price increase for Honda’s highly competitive capped-price service program since 2022, when costs rose by almost 60 per cent, from $125 to $199 per service.

“Honda is committed to delivering innovative, high-quality and fun products at a fair price, all underpinned by an ownership experience that provides peace of mind,” said Honda Australia in a statement.

“This reputation and commitment to our customers is highlighted through our new value offering of five-year low price servicing at $279 each, locked in at that price for each of the first five services.

“This excludes the newly launched Honda Super-One which is priced at $199.

“All models across the range also receive five years of roadside assistance, a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and five years of complimentary Honda Connect, providing peace-of-mind for Honda customers, positioning us to continue our momentum in the market.”

Honda’s Australian sales have increased 1.5 per cent year-to-date, following the launch of new models including the born-again Prelude sports coupe and the pint-size Super-One, its first EV sold locally.

Despite that growth, Honda is on track to sell around 15,000 vehicles this year, which is less than its previous target of around 18,000 annual sales following its business restructure earlier this decade.

Honda Australia introduced its capped-price service program, officially called Honda Low Price Service, in 2021 when it switched from a traditional franchised dealer sales model to an agency sales model.

Under the agency model, Honda Australia owns vehicles at dealerships and sets ‘no-haggle’ national drive-away prices for its models, reflecting a focus on lower sales volumes and greater profitability.

“A big part of moving to a new business model was a new approach to the ownership value proposition. It’s not just the price of the car – it’s the whole value offering for our customers,” Honda Australia general manager of ownership experience James Greenwood told CarExpert in March 2026.

“That is why Honda developed its market-leading Honda Low Price Service offering. Our five low-price services have provided immense ownership value for our customers and, in return, has generated record customer retention.”
