Maserati Australia simplifies trim levels for 2022

Goodbye, GTS and Hybrid. Maserati has given its branding a shuffle for 2022,

The Maserati Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante will be offered in GT, Modena, and Trofeo trim levels Down Under (and in New Zealand) from late in 2021.

Hybrid and GTS badging will be axed, as Maserati reshuffles its range to offer “different yet complementary souls of innovation, performance and design”.  

The hybrid powertrain will continue, but under the GT trim name. 

The Levante GT and Ghibli GT are equipped with a 246kW four-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid assistance. 

The Quattroporte GT is powered by a V6 petrol engine with 260kW.

Models bearing the GT badge will have chrome trim on the exterior, along with 18-inch rims for Ghibli and Levante models, and 19-inch rims for the Quattroporte. 

Interior trim will be black leather across the GT range. There’s a Dark Mirror Trim for the Ghibli GT, a Radica trim for the Quattroporte GT, and a Black Piano Trim for Levante GT.

The Modena trim is aimed at customers with sporting intent. 

Ghibli and Levante models in this trim receive a 260kW V6 engine while, Ghibli and Levante Modena S models gains a 320kW V6.

The Quattroporte Modena is fitted with the same 320kW engine. 

On the outside, enthusiasts will be able to recognise the Modena through its sport bumpers with black piano inserts and larger, 20-inch wheels. 

Interior highlights are wraparound sports black leather seats with black piano trim for Levante and Quattroporte models. The Ghibli receives a Dark Mirror trim design. 

Modena S models feature the Nerissimo Pack and red brake calipers.

The Trofeo trim is the top of the range, and is exclusively applied to cars packing a V8 engine.

The highlight of this trim, regardless of model, is a fire-breathing 430kW twin-turbo V8 engine. It’s backed by carbon fibre trim, 21-inch alloy wheels, and red brake calipers. 

The interior gains luxurious sports seats finished in full-grain “Pieno Fiore” natural leather. 

All trim levels will also receive the reworked Maserati logo (first debuted on the MC20 supercar).
