Porsche Cayenne Electric offers more personalisation than ever before

The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric is the most customisable model in the nameplate's history, according to the German marque.

Dubbed the 'E4', the new-generation all-electric Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe offer a slew of new convenience, personalisation and technology options that are all available on the online configurator.

Leading the charge are the extensive paint and trim individualisation options. Some 13 exterior paint offerings round out the 'standard' palette, with a further 92 paint options available through the Paint to Sample program via Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur – for a total of 105 available paint shades.

Further, the cabin can be individualised with the 'Extended Package Interior Style' with additional leather trims and decorative stitching in Delgada Green, accompanying additional leather trim options. One can also specify extended interior surfaces trimmed in the company's Race-Tex suede.

Also new for the fourth-generation Cayenne (Electric) are optionally available electric doors, something usually seen in ultra-luxury vehicles.

Servo motors open and close all four doors, activated by a brief pull of the door handles, with the rest handled automatically.

The doors can also be controlled using buttons in the cabin, via the Flow Display infotainment system, or via the Porsche Digital Key on a compatible smartphone.

Further, the driver can also close the driver's door by fastening their seatbelt or by pressing the brake pedal.

There's a new front-seat massage function, which has been enhanced to include 4D audio that combines the massage experience with music.

With this option specified, the front seats each feature 16 air cushions and six sound actuators in the backrests and seat base cushions.

Occupants can select from five massage programs with selectable vibration massaging at various levels of intensity. The sound actuators integrated into the seat "create a four-dimensional musical experience".

The massage program and intensity of the massage are controlled via the central touchscreen. The 4D audio feature can be activated independently of the massage function, while the strength and distribution of the vibrations can also be adjusted.

Further, the Cayenne Electric's 'Mood Modes' integrate the massage and 4D audio functions into its respective Wellness Mood Mode profiles, pairing the pneumatic massage function to "specially curated sound experiences".

Finally, the Cayenne Electric debuts the new Porsche Wireless Charging, which has been confirmed for Australia at a later date, with all Australian-delivered models being fitted as standard with the pre-wiring needed for retrofitting the hardware once it becomes available.

Much like charging a smartphone wirelessly, the system fits a charging pad to the underside of the vehicle and requires a weatherproof ground pad installed in a parking space, together charging the vehicle's battery at up to 11kW with an efficiency of "about 90 per cent".

Motion sensors and foreign object detection are measures implemented to ensure safe operation, to avoid running the current into loose metallic objects left on the pad or a living creature like a pet.

Should these be present and detected, the charging automatically stops.

The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric range is arriving in Australian showrooms now, priced from $167,700 before on-road costs.
