Nissan Micra

The Nissan Micra is a light hatchback that once filled the city-car role in Nissan’s Australian range. Compact, simple and inexpensive to run, it suited first-car buyers, urban commuters and downsizers wanting easy parking and fuss-free daily transport. Its appeal was never about performance or premium appointments; the Micra was designed around low-speed manoeuvrability, good outward visibility and straightforward controls for suburban and inner-city use. Buyers looking at one today will be shopping used examples only, as Nissan no longer offers the Micra new in Australia. The latest overseas Micra has moved into pint-size electric hatchback territory, but it has been ruled out for our market, leaving Nissan without a baby EV locally.
