The Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome has been revealed globally with confirmation Australia will be among the first countries in the world to receive the special-edition model, limited to 200 examples locally.
Due in showrooms next month, the i30 Sedan N Monochrome brings what the automaker describes as more subtle exterior and interior treatments than the regular i30 Sedan N, with Korea and Canada the only other markets the special edition has been confirmed for.
It’s effectively a run-out model for the i30 Sedan N, which arrived in Australian showrooms in 2021, and follows the template set by the i20 N Shadow Edition, which marked the end of the smaller hatchback when it was announced in June 2026.
The current i30 Hatch N is also nearing the end of its Australian run, with stock expected to last into 2027, with the regular i30 Hatch potentially on the chopping block. Non-N versions of the i30 Hatch have already been discontinued locally.

Although an N version is yet to be shown, a new generation of the i30 Sedan was revealed in June 2026 with an even more aggressively styled exterior. It’s expected to arrive in Australia with a choice of petrol and hybrid powertrains in the first half of 2027.
“Having listened to customers’ voices for a toned-down high-performance model, we restrained visual emphases and focused on form, texture and material to create a monochromatic rendition of the i30 Sedan N that is understated, yet undeniably N,” said Joon Park, vice president and head of Hyundai’s N high-performance division, in a statement.
Pricing and further details haven’t been confirmed, but it’s expected to cost more than the standard i30 Sedan N, currently priced at $53,500 before on-road costs in either six-speed manual or eight-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) guise.
The Monochrome will be offered in just two exterior colours: Abyss Black Pearl, a $595 premium paint option on the regular i30 Sedan N, and the no-cost Performance Blue.
Both colours are teamed with newly designed 19-inch forged alloy wheels finished in black, while the usual red brake calipers are also finished in black.

The darker theme extends to elements of the front bumper, side sills and rear diffuser, with unpainted carbon-fibre mirror caps and a rear spoiler completing the treatment.
The cabin features an exclusive Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with all buttons finished in black. Alcantara is also used elsewhere, including on the seats in place of the leather in the regular i30 Sedan N.
There are no changes to the 206kW/392Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which sends power to the front wheels.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the 200 Monochromes will include a mix of manual and DCT versions, with around 170 equipped with the DCT.

The allocation broadly reflects the standard i30 Sedan N’s sales mix, with around 90 per cent of buyers choosing the DCT.
The i30 Sedan N has accounted for almost a quarter of N model sales in Australia since the high-performance division’s local debut in 2018, contributing 5420 of its 22,474 sales to the end of September 2026.
The sedan is second only to the i30 Hatch N, the first N model offered here, which has accounted for more than half of the division’s local sales.
Overall, N models – which also include the i20 N hatch, Kona SUV and electric Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 – have accounted for four per cent of Hyundai Australia’s sales year-to-date.
