The Cadillac Lyriq has received an update for 2027, bringing less range and slower charging for the large electric SUV but quicker acceleration, more torque and better efficiency – all at an unchanged price.

Gone is the Luxury, which was priced identically to the Sport but featured minor cosmetic differences such as a different grille pattern. For now, at least until the Lyriq-V arrives, there's a single Sport trim priced at an unchanged $90,000 before on-road costs.

The Lyriq drops to a smaller 92kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery for 2027, aligning it with the smaller Optiq and larger Vistiq, which for Australia and other markets like Europe adopt smaller batteries with slower DC charging capacities than the US market due to Europe's ECE Regulation 100.03.

Range has consequently been reduced from 530km to 503km, and the DC charge rate dropped from 190kW to 130kW.

A 10-minute DC charge now adds 114km of range, down from 131km. However, energy consumption has decreased from 22.5kWh/100km to 20.2kWh/100km.

The Lyriq Sport now produces 384kW of power and 720Nm of torque, down 4kW but up 110Nm on the pre-update model. The 0-100km/h time has been reduced from 5.3 seconds to 4.9 seconds.

In terms of safety equipment, the Lyriq gains lane-centring and traffic sign recognition but its airbag count drops to six with the removal of the dual front knee airbags.

Its 19-speaker AKG sound system has been upgraded to a 23-speaker AKG Studio system with Dolby Atmos, while you no longer need to press a button to start the Lyriq.

The range of interior and exterior colour options has also been shuffled, and is detailed in the Colours section below.

    Servicing and Warranty

Cadillac backs the Lyriq with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty, with five years of complimentary roadside assistance.

Servicing is required every 12 months or 12,000km, whichever comes first. While the MY25 Lyriq was offered with five years of complimentary scheduled servicing, Cadillac has yet to confirm the servicing offer for the MY27 Lyriq.

    Safety
